DUBUQUE – An Iowa woman was found dead, and police say her son is the main suspect in the killing.
On January 18th, 2024 at 8:50 am officers from the Dubuque Police Department responded to 1605 Avoca Street for the report of a deceased female within the residence. The decedent was located and identified as 46-year-old Jennifer Ann Dazey of this address. Through the course of the investigation, investigators developed probable cause to arrest and charge Jennifer’s adult son, 28-year-old Tyler James Dazey with murder in the first degree. Tyler James Dazey also resided at 1605 Avoca Street.
Murder in the first degree is a class “A” felony in the State of Iowa, punishable by a mandatory life sentence. The suspect is currently in custody at the Dubuque County Jail and will have his initial appearance in court on the morning of Friday, January 19th.
