WATERLOO – A Waterloo man was found dead in an alley, and police have ruled the death as a homicide and are seeking help from the public.
On Saturday, December 7, 2024, at approximately 7:41 AM, Waterloo consolidated dispatch received a call of a person down in the alley to the rear of 721 Fowler Street. Waterloo Patrol Officers arrived on scene and discovered a person deceased.
Detectives and lab personnel were called in to assist police.
The deceased was later transported to the State Medical Examiner’s office in Ankeny, where an autopsy was conducted. The State Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the male as 59-year-old Tommie Lee Johnson Jr. (pictured at top, via police) of Waterloo, Iowa. Johnson’s manner of death has been ruled a homicide.
