CEDAR RAPIDS – An Iowa woman was killed after the motorcycle she was operating crashed into deer, then another vehicle hit her.
Police in Cedar Rapids say a Sunday morning traffic fatality involving a motorcycle, a deer and another vehicle took an Iowa woman’s life. Officers were dispatched to the intersection of I-380 southbound and Wright Brothers Blvd at 2:30 AM on Sunday, June 4, 2023 following reports of a motorcycle accident and possible fatality. On-scene, officers and investigators found evidence of a motorcycle-vs-deer collision and subsequent motorcyclist-vs-motor vehicle collision. Felicia Tharp, age 28 of Coralville, Iowa, was identified as the deceased operator of the motorcycle.
Investigators are attempting to locate and identify the driver of the vehicle that struck Tharp after contact with the deer and sought help from the public.
