ROLAND, IOWA – An Iowa man is facing felony charges after allegedly supplying drugs to a teen after multiple sex acts in a car.
The Story County Sheriff’s Office arrested Matthew Akeem Butts, a 34-year-old male from Des Moines, on three counts of Sex Abuse 2nd and one count of Distributing Drugs to a Person Under 18.
On December 8, 2022, Matthew Akeem Butts met with a minor female in Roland after communicating via Snapchat. Butts provided the minor marijuana after performing multiple sex acts with the victim inside a vehicle. Detectives collected evidence, including video, Snapchat records, phone records, and DNA which corroborate the victim’s report.
Sex Abuse 2nd and Distributing Drugs to a person under 18 are both Class B Felonies.
Butts is being held at the Story County Jail with no bond.
