DES MOINES – Iowa Governor Kim Reynolds was furious Thursday when she learned Donald Trump was indicted in New York on felony criminal charges.
Reynolds released the following statement in response to the indictment of President Donald J. Trump:
“This sham indictment only serves as a reminder to Americans that there is a two-tiered justice system under Joe Biden. While New York faces an open season for crime, the Manhattan DA is focused on arresting a former president. This is what an assault on democracy looks like – using government power to go after your political opponents – and it’s coming directly from those who proclaim to ‘defend’ it. This isn’t normal, it isn’t ‘justice,’ and it’s certainly not what America stands for.”
Reportedly, Trump may be faces scores of charges. The indictments are sealed, so no one knows the exact charges, but they are related to fraud for paying hush money to an adult film actress, Stormy Daniels, whom Trump allegedly had an affair with.
Trump is facing serious legal woes in Georgia for his attempts to steal the 2020 election, which he lost badly to Joe Biden. A federal prosecutor is also rounding up a case on Trump.
