ESTHERVILLE – Northern Iowa police tracked a stolen electronic device to a house they discovered contained a marijuana growing operation, and three suspects were arrested after the raid.
On March 25th, 2023 the Estherville Police Department received a report of stolen Air Pods. The victim reported that the Air Pods had been stolen on an earlier date, but that she had recently located them using the “Find Me App” on her phone. The app indicated that the Air Pods were located at 1215 2nd Avenue South in Estherville. On March 28th, officers applied for and received a search warrant for the residence in an attempt to find the missing items.
While executing the search warrant for the stolen Air Pods, officers located illegal drugs in the residence. A second search warrant was executed at the residence for illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. During the search, officers located a marijuana growing operation, marijuana, THC wax, THC vape cartridges and vape pens and drug paraphernalia.
Following the search, Officers arrested Joshua Aguilar, age 21, and 20 year old Ashley Allen of Estherville. Aguilar and Allen were both charged with the following criminal offenses:
– Possession with the Intent to Deliver/Manufacture Marijuana
– Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
– Failure to Affix a Drug Tax Stamp (one or more unprocessed plants)
– Failure to Affix Tax Stamp (Forty-two- and one-half grams or more)
Aguilar and Allen were released the following morning after posting bond.
Also arrested was Jonathon Palacios, age 18 of Estherville. Palacios was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and Possession of Tobacco/Vape/Cigarettes while a person under the age of 21. Palacios was released the following morning on an unsecured bond.
