FORT DODGE - A young woman was gunned down in Fort Dodge Thursday night, police say, and a suspect is on the loose.

FORT DODGE – A young woman was gunned down in Fort Dodge Thursday night, police say, and a suspect is on the loose.

On Thursday, March 30, 2023, at approximately 9:56 PM, the Webster County Telecommunications Center received multiple calls of shots fired in the area of the 700 block 7th Ave. N. The Fort Dodge Police Department, the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, and Fort Dodge Fire responded to the scene.

When officers arrived on scene, they located one unresponsive female in the parking lot of 707 7th Ave. N. in Fort Dodge. Officers began life‐saving efforts on the female, but the female was ultimately pronounced deceased. Investigators were called in and the scene was processed and witnesses located. The victim has been identified as 26‐year‐old Nicole Reza of Fort Dodge.

As a result of the investigation thus far, an arrest warrant has been issued for 27-year-old Adarius Keshawn Clayton (27) of Fort Dodge on the following charge:

Murder in the First Degree (A Felony)

Mr. Clayton is described as 5’9” tall and weighing 190 pounds. Mr. Clayton should be considered armed and dangerous. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Mr. Clayton, they are encouraged to contact law enforcement immediately.

At this time investigators with the Criminal Investigations Division, the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations, and the Webster County Attorney’s Office are continuing to follow up on this incident. Anyone with information on this incident is encouraged to contact the Fort Dodge Police. Information may also be submitted anonymously via Crime Stoppers.

The Fort Dodge Police Department was assisted on scene by the Webster County Sheriff’s Office, the Fort Dodge Fire Department, the Webster County Attorney’s Office, and the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigations.
