MASON CITY – NIACC’s Bryce Malchow has been selected as the ICCAC Division II men’s golfer athlete of the week for the week of Sept. 12-18.
Malchow, who prepped at Gilbert High School, finished in a tie for third place at the two-day Buena Vista Fall Invite at the Buena Vista Golf Course at Lake Creek in Storm Lake on Sept. 17-18.
The Trojan sophomore began with a 77 in round one and was in a tie for 10th place. On day 2, Malchow posted a 72 and leaped into a tie for third place in a field of 51 golfers.
NIACC finished second out of seven teams at the event. Malchow’s 72 was his best round of his college career — breaking his previous low of 74 that came at the NIACC Fall Invitational earlier this fall.
