Burglar nabbed by cops after breaking into Taco John’s in Cedar Falls

CEDAR FALLS – A burglar was nabbed by cops after breaking into a Taco John’s in Cedar Falls.

On September 13th, 2022 at 12:41 AM, Cedar Falls police were dispatched to Taco John’s at 6210 University Avenue in reference to an active police alarm. Officers arrived on scene and found entry had been made to the building. Officers cleared the building which was empty. Video surveillance showed a white male had entered the building through the sliding window. The suspect checked the cash registers which were empty and then proceeded to steal an IPAD before exiting the business. Officers were able to identify the suspect as, Jacob Lee.

On September 15th, 2022 at 11:19 PM, officers met with Jacob Lee who was placed under arrest. A search warrant was executed on Jacob Lee’s residence and the IPAD was recovered.

Jacob Lee, age 32 was charged with:

• Burglary 3rd Degree, Class D Felony
