DES MOINES – Today Gov. Kim Reynolds announced the signing of a disaster proclamation for Buena Vista County in northwest Iowa effective immediately through April 5, 2022.

This proclamation allows state resources from Iowa Homeland Security, the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship, and other agencies to assist with tracking and monitoring, rapid detection, containment, disposal, and disinfection. The proclamation also waives regulatory provisions related to commercial vehicles responding to affected sites.

The recent highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) detections in birds do not present an immediate public health concern, and it remains safe to eat poultry products. If producers suspect signs of HPAI in their flocks, they should contact their veterinarian immediately.

The USDA has confirmed a positive case at a commercial turkey flock in Buena Vista County. On March 1, 2022, a positive case was confirmed in a backyard, non-commercial flock in Pottawattamie County.

  1. Birdshit flu – always been around and will always be around – just take the normal precautions as always and it will be fine – No use turning it over to the mad hatter faucci the killer.

  2. Bird shit. Maybe it’s time to start bagging it up like dog shit. Give you something to do. So, northern Asia has been thawing out for some time. Releasing stuff that’s has been locked up in the frozen tundra for 11,000 years. The last time it was thawed there was amass extinction event. Then it froze. Who’s to say what these pathogens are as the spread through the migrating birds around the polar regions. They are coming from Asia. It’s seems that both aids and covid came from eating ‘wet’ meat. Meaning raw and wild. Or uncooked bush meats. Which is where tapeworms come from. Especially in Africa and Asia. And both these place are crazy old. Stuff don’t just disappear. It fades away. Except tapeworms. Those have to be destroyed.

    1. That is a B.S. response. This has been spreading for years and years. Started in China and is now here. I bet it is Trump’s fault

      1. ^^^ Now he’s en epidemiologist, 5 minutes ago (1, actually) he was a foreign policy expert, before that he was a psychologist, an economic advisor, and he did it all while waiting for his burrito to be browned in the drive thru at Taco Bell
