Search warrant leads to raid of Mason City house and arrest of man with large amount of meth

MASON CITY – A search warrant led to the raid of a Mason City house and the arrest of a man with la arge amount of meth.

On October 1, 2021 at approximately 11:15 AM, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department executed a search warrant at 432 S. Taylor Ave. in Mason City. James Lee Mariner, Age 54 of Mason City, was located at the residence and arrested. During the search warrant a large amount of methamphetamine (Approximately Two Pounds) and items used to distribute were located. Mariner has been charged with Possession of Methamphetamine with Intent to Deliver a Class B felony and Failure to Affix a drug tax stamp a class D felony. Mariner is being held in Cerro Gordo County Jail. This is an ongoing methamphetamine distribution and money laundering case. Anyone with information should contact the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department.

Assisting the sheriff’s office were the Clear Lake Police Department, Mason City Police Department, Mason City Fire Department, Iowa Division Of Narcotics Enforcement, United States Postal Service and the North Central Iowa Narcotics Task Force.
