Cerro Gordo County Vaccination Rollout Update: Under age 64 now eligible

MASON CITY – CG Public Health is now accepting COVID-19 vaccination appointments for individuals aged 64 years or younger with underlying medical conditions. All previously eligible priority groups should continue to attempt sign up as well.  This decision came after assessing present demand from currently eligible priority groups in Cerro Gordo County. To see if your medical condition makes you eligible, visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/need-extra-precautions/people-with-medical-conditions.html?utm_medium=email&utm_source=govdelivery.

In addition, the Cerro Gordo County CodeRED alert system will no longer be used to alert eligible priority groups of upcoming appointment availability.  Instead, as vaccine appointments become available our scheduler will be updated within our website and people can visit the site at any time to check availability, https://cghealth.com/sign-up/.

“We have wanted to vaccinate people with underlying conditions from the start, now we can,” states Brian Hanft, Director of Public Health at CG Public Health.  “This group is at serious risk of severe illness or death from this virus, getting them protected is a huge win for our community.”

The easiest way to secure an appointment is by signing up online at https://cghealth.com/sign-up/.  For more information or to check your eligibility status, visit https://cghealth.com/topics/vaccine-information-for-cerro-gordo-county/
