RURAL EAGLE GROVE, IOWA – A teen was hurt in a Wright county auto crash Sunday afternoon.

The Iowa State Patrol reports that a single-vehicle crash occurred on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at around 1:29 PM, half a mile east of US 17 on 285th Street, rural Eagle Grove. A 200 Ford Explorer operated by a 16-year-old male was eastbound on 285th Street when he lost control of the vehicle, entered the north ditch, struck a utility pole and came to rest on its side. The driver, who was not yet named, was ejected and was not wearing a seat belt, the Patrol claims.

As a result of the crash, the driver was taken to Trinity Regional Hospital and then transferred to Bank Children’s Hospital in Des Moines.

The Iowa State Patrol was assisted by the Wright County Sheriff’s Department and Eagle Grove Fire & EMS.
