RURAL WORTH COUNTY – An Iowa man’s vehicle had mechanical issues and when a deputy stopped to help, alcohol was detected, landing the stranded driver in jail.
On January 5, 2019 at approximately 6:44 PM, a Worth county deputy observed a vehicle pull over and turn its hazard lights on near the intersection of HWY 105 and Wheelerwood Road. The Deputy stopped to see if they needed assistance. The vehicle was having mechanical issues. While speaking to the driver, the deputy could smell the odor of an alcoholic drink coming from him. An investigation was done for OWI.
As a result, the driver was identified as 26-year-old Nicholas Kerber from North Liberty. Kerber was placed under arrest and charged with OWI first Offense.
