ESTHERVILLE, IOWA – A Northern Iowa man is facing a felony charge after an alleged drunken rampage this week.
On June 5, 2017 at approximately 6:15 AM, Estherville police officers were dispatched to the 900 block of 12th Avenue North regarding a disturbance, that a reporting party described as possible gunshots. Upon arrival, Estherville officers encountered two males in the street yelling at each other. Officers determined that one of the males had broken the windows out of a vehicle parked in the area and appeared to be intoxicated.
The male was identified as 33-year-old James Short of Estherville. Short was placed under arrest for Public Intoxication 2nd Offense (a Serious Misdemeanor) and 2nd Degree Criminal Mischief, a Class “D” Felony.
Short appeared in front of a Magistrate and is being held on a $6000 cash or surety bond.
