MINNEAPOLIS – One of the biggest retailers in the country has reacted to the nationwide clown scare, pulling creepy clown masks from its shelves and websites to help stamp out the hysteria.

A Target spokesperson told national media that “Given the current environment, we have made the decision to remove a variety of clown masks from our assortment, both in stores and online.”

Something of a clown craze has swept the country, with clown “sightings” all the rage. Police departments have taken notice, with many here in Iowa issuing statements that they will not be taking it as a joke when folks dress like clowns and walk around scaring the daylights out of the feeble masses.
