Chicago man in jail after Iowa shooting

DUBUQUE – Chicago is one of America’s most violent cities, and the violence has crossed state lines into Iowa.

On June 4, 2017, at approximately 6:04 AM, Dubuque, Iowa police responded to Finley Hospital on the report of an adult male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Around the same time, officers were dispatched to 1555 North Grandview Avenue on the report of a disturbance. During the initial investigation, it was determined the two calls were related. The victim, Stephen A. Miles, age 29 of Dubuque, had been at 1555 N. Grandview when an individual shot him, causing an injury not believed to be life-threatening.

As a result of an investigation, Nathaniel Z. Grover, age 28 of Chicago, was identified as the alleged suspect and charged with Willful Injury, a Class C Felony punishable by a fine between $1,000 to $10,000 and up to 10 years in prison.

The investigation remains ongoing and additional charges are possible, police say.
