The accident took place August 8 at about noon, at the corner of Brantingham and Clark Streets. Charles City police responded to a two-car accident involving Abigail Chipera, age 21 of Nashua, and Chad Langreck, age 24 of Lime Springs. Chipera was driving west on Clark Street in a white Jeep Compass when she rear-ended a red 2008 Chevy Impala driven by Langreck, who was stopped in traffic, also headed westbound.

As a result of her driving, Chipera was cited for failure to stop in an assured clear distance, a simple misdemeanor. The estimated damage from the accident was $5,000 total.
