Officers from the 2nd Precinct along with the University of Minneapolis Police responded to 1907 Franklin Avenue SE, just before 5:00 PM Saturday night, to assist on an ambulance call.
Officers arrived at the address to find Hennepin County Paramedics treating a four month old for injuries stemming from an assault. The infant was transported to HCMC where she was pronounced deceased.
Officers have taken an adult male, believed to be the child’s father, into custody. Police are not looking for any other suspects in this case.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner will release the name of the victim, as well as the cause and nature of death.
