University of Iowa to announce new statewide scholarship program at Mason City High School

mchs-mason-city-high-schoolMASON CITY – A new scholarship program offered by the University of Iowa will be announced at a press conference at Mason City High School this week.

The University of Iowa will host a press conference at Mason City High School on March 2 to announce a new statewide scholarship initiative to help prepare Iowa high school students for a college education. Mason City Community School District is one of 99 school districts in the state where students will be eligible to participate in this pilot program during its first year.

During the press conference, more details about the program and will be available for interviews: Mason City High School Counselor Karla Wymore; Mark Warner, University of Iowa assistant provost and director of student financial aid; and Rachel McGuire, director of admissions for North Iowa Area Community College (NIACC) as well as a student who will be participating in the Raise.me initiative.

The event will take place at 11 AM, Wednesday, March 2 in the Mason City High School Information Center.
