HAMPTON – A Hampton man was injured recently while pheasant hunting in Franklin county.
The incident took place on Saturday, November 28 approximately three miles east of Faulkner near the Franklin-Butler County line.
Bob Abbas, 76, was hunting with three others when a pellet from a shotgun being fired at a pheasant hit him just above the right eye at approximately 3 p.m. He was transported by private vehicle to Franklin General Hospital in Hampton where the pellet was removed and he was released.
The incident remains under investigation by the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
