MASON CITY – A domestic violence awareness event will be held in Mason City on October 2.
The North Iowa Domestic & Sexual Abuse Community Coalition said today that 264 Iowans have been killed in domestic violence related homicides between January 1, 1995 – March 31, 2015.
To bring awareness to these tragedies and honor the memory of Iowans who have lost their lives as a result of domestic violence, the Coalition will hold their annual Remember My Name event on October 2, 2015 at Music Man Square.
A light lunch will be served at noon, following by a program at 12:15 PM.
The mission of the North Iowa Domestic & Sexual Abuse Community Coalition is to reduce & prevent abuse in our communities through agency coordination, community education & public awareness.
