DES MOINES – Senator Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) delivered the Republican rebuttal to President Barack Obama’s State of the Union address Tuesday night, and liberals are fuming at her message.
In response, Matt Sinovic, Executive Director of Progress Iowa – a liberal Iowa political group – issued the following statement:
“Tonight Senator Ernst had a chance to represent Iowa and lead in a bipartisan manner, but unfortunately she spoke only in platitudes and refused to distance herself from her fringe views.”
“Senator Ernst spoke about Americans struggling with low wages, but she supports abolishing the federal minimum wage.”
“Senator Ernst spoke about her education, but she would abolish the Department of Education, ending the student loans she used to attend college.”
“Senator Ernst attacked the Affordable Care Act, but offered no alternative except repealing it and removing health coverage from 10 million Americans.”
“Senator Ernst’s hollow response tonight is just further proof that she is as extreme as we feared, and that we are in for a long six years with her in office.”
Progress Iowa is a statewide, multi-issue organization focused on research, education and advocacy regarding Iowa public policy.

I can’t answer for LVS but as for myself I did vote for Joni and if there was a female candidate that I liked running for president I would vote for her. Hillary has a long line of dead bodies in her past as well as millions of lies, she is NOT one to be trusted.
Benghazi is a manufactured controversy where 4 Americans died, hardly a “long line”. There have been 8, count ’em 8, investigations into the Benghazi situation and not a single one of them has turned up any information stating the attack could have been avoided, or was the fault of the administration. Yet again, conservatives refuse to believe facts and science. You truly are the party of dumb and work very hard at dumbing down America.
So just because her and bills whitewater gate back in the 80’s and 90’s mean since it was long ago it never happened? Benghazi was just the topping on the cake.

The fact that 4 people died isn’t manufactured, and it’s certainly a tragedy. The “controversy” around it is the part that’s manufactured by the right for purely political reasons. As I said, the “controversy” part has been investigated by 8 independent panels and have not substantiated any of the claims by the right wing conspiracy manufacturers. Read the whole article, it’s saying that Hilldawg ignored intelligence reports and took the US to war in Libya anyway. Which ultimately resulted in instability and Benghazi. Conservatives are latching onto Benghazi as a way to keep Hillary out of office, saying she isn’t qualified because she made the wrong decision based on intelligence and 4 people died. If the outrage wasn’t only for political gain, then conservatives would be outraged anytime the wrong decision is made in the face of intelligence. For example 9/11 where 3000 Americans died when Rice, Rumsfeld, and Bush all had evidence to show something big was going to happen.

I know that you only listen to the liberal news so heres what you are missing. Clinton and obama were trying to get rid of Qaddafi so they started supplying weapons to the rebels, which had strong ties to al quadda. Once qaddafi died they started supplying weapons to the rebels in syria, ISIS. Word got out so stevens was trying to put a stop to it when al quadda attacked they embassy. Yes clinton knew the attack was coming but she wanted stevens quiet so she denied security there.
The article you linked provided none of that information. And the motive you describe is pure political speculation that comes from a right wing conspiracy theorist. Where is the proof of this?
Do your own research. I read this on a number of websites and I even saw the hearing on Fox, I know you will say it’s all a lie because it was on Fox but when it is a hearing and you can actually see their lips move and hear their voices not a whole lot you can make up there.

I am not a republican but an independent. I go by a persons actions and not their words. She hasn’t been in office enough for me to form an opinion about her so I will give her time. as for the rest of the republicans I can say this, it is around 50 50 that I trust to do what they say, BUT when it comes to democrats I have learned that NONE of them can be trusted and that comes by watching first what they say and then what they do.
