MASON CITY – Well-known volunteer and band shell advocate Janice Easley proclaimed at Tuesday’s Park Board meeting that she “is back” and went on to rip Mason City Chamber of Commerce Director Robin Anderson.

Easley was especially critical of Anderson bulldozing a perennial garden in Central Park and placing a sculpture of red dice near a veteran’s monument.

“That’s a sacred spot because of the veterans being up there,” Easley said.  “To stick that thing up there, next to the bathrooms… I especially wanted to talk about that issue.  It’s ridiculous to keep that dice in Central Park.”

The Park Board voted unanimously that the red dice sculpture must be moved out of the perennial garden, about 15 feet east.  Mason City taxpayers will foot the bill for moving the sculpture.

“I’ve been out of commission for awhile, undue to my own fault… but, I’m back,” Easley Continued.

“I tend to go out on a limb sometimes.  I don’t think Robin Anderson should run this town.”

  1. “I don’t think Robin Anderson should run this town.”

You right on that one Janice but all due respect…you didn’t get it EXACTLY right….Robin Anderson should LEAVE this town.

Good Lord that picture that Matt keeps posting of her scares the shit out of me…I swear I’m having flashbacks of the first time I saw the exorcist.

I know…someone will come on here and tell me I’m mean and a hateful person but I call it like I see it…she didn’t just get hit with the ugly stick…she got her ass kicked by the whole damn tree!!!

  2. Where are the candidates? Who is going to run against this band of thieves this fall.

They will have Skipper and the Globe Gazette to contend with. That bunch of lying dogs will endorse the status quo.

As of now, from my perspective, we are in deep do do unless a good slate of people with a good platform to move the city in the right direction steps forward.

Thanks Janice for speaking out! I too don’t understand why the city is footing the bill to move that junk.

  3. Good for Janice. The lady has gumption and is not afraid to tell it like it is. She doesn’t feel the need to sugar coat anything. When is this city going to wake up and get rid of this bunch of elitist? Get out and vote them out of office and lets get someone who will represent all of us instead of just the Country Club Set.

  4. Talk to any city employee and they will tell you that they think Robin Anderson and her chamber of commerce group are running this city and they have no faith in administrator Trouts leadership.

  5. Tax payers are footing the bill????? What? This is bullsh**! Robin Anderson should be paying for this out of her own account. Those diece should NOT be in central park at all. Whose running this town???

    1. ” Whose running this town???”

I want everyone in November to ask themselves that very question.

Honestly examine the actions of the last four years from our leaders, and if you are not happy, please, take the time to voice that displeasure and send our community in a better direction.

  6. Janice Easley is a true patriot, a Mason City icon, a wise woman whose words should be heeded and followed. Thank you Ms. Easley for all you have done and for sticking up for the little guy.
