As I said in a previous post, our country gives billions away in foreign aid and to numerous welfare programs here in the states. We’re borrowing money just to give it away. Printing money and raising taxes isn’t doing it any more. This country has to start cutting spending. It’s not going to be easy, but it is going to be necessary. Govt has to stop talking about it and start fixing it.

Such a short sighted policy would bankrupt communities all over the country. Keep removing the income base of your community, guess what will be left? Welfare and other programs. You would de-fund them all, and let those people go deeper into the hell they are in now. And you will not fund programs and organizations that will help them, it would cost you too much. Then what? Leave them off to perish, and decrease the surplus population!

I don’t recall anyone suggesting that public employees work at minimum wage and that they don’t receive any benefits. And not defund welfare and other programs. Rather just stop handing out money like it’s water and start requiring a little better accountability.

How about our right to choose, they tell us what we can or cannot do. Our right to self protection against criminals in or out of a suit. What I mean by our right to choose, they say we have to buy insurance or pay a tax. Now it’s getting to a point where they are telling us what we can or cannot say.

@maybe – Your question to sickastupd about drinking is a matter I have often wondered about before. Sick’s anger, insults, and emotional outbursts have always seemed to be based on more than just personal problems. I have often considered the possibility of mood enhancing additions affecting her blogs.

You are spot on about our children. Our educational institutions were infiltrated and taken over by left wing socialists decades ago. They also took over and destroyed the Democratic Party.
Take into account that Education along with a corrupt media have honed the skills of Madison Avenue advertisers and now have the ability to brainwash and propagandize the people at will. It is not only our work ethic that has been destroyed.

The Government is denying services to Seniors.
The first service that is on the agenda for denial under Obamacare are electrocardiograms. I was made to sign an additional guarantee last month that I would pay for the test if Medicare won’t. When I asked why, they said they have been informed by Medicare that they are soon to quit paying for this service and want to make sure they will get paid.
My doctor has alos told me that I should anticipate not receiving annual PSA tests or a colonoscopies after the age of 70.
You have a lot of pissed of Senior Citizens.
Oh stop lying. Medicare pays for ecgs if they are MEDICALLY NECESSARY. Not if they are merely for annual check-ups. If you want an annual check-up, pay for it. Medicare + Part B covers all your medical tests just like always.

@Anonymous- I had to sign a form saying that I would pay if Medicare didn’t. I have never had to do that before as I have an excellent supplemental that pays everything Medicare doesn’t. When I asked why they said it was because of Obamacare and Medicare was getting real chicken because of it. I just and an operation in Edina, Mn. and the hospital there said the same thing. So, it’s not you who is the Birdbrain. It is people like STUPID who don’ know what they are talking about and just make up crap to make themselves sound smart. The total number of persons on welfare in 2012… 4.3 Million (Source: US Department of Health and Human Services, U.S. Department of Commerce, CATO Institute).
The population of Ohio alone… 11.5 Million.
Whomever sent this to you is obviously very… wrong. I would advise that if you want the reputation of this “blog” to actually maintain any shred of credibility that you actually check the “facts” before you post them.
I think “Sad but true” has it nailed, what was left out was unemployment so called “insurance,” state aid for programs on top of that for HUD,WIC, food debit cards, Obama phones and more.

After some checking on welfare statistics, your 4.3 million on welfare is way off. Either you are trying to discredit this chart using phoney numbers or your sources are wrong.
There isn’t enough room in this blog to list all the different sources of welfare the people in America are receiving in welfare.
Remember the 47% number Romney referred to in his campaign for President. That number is over 50% if you add in public employees at the trough of welfare.
This picture in the article is right on the money. I used to have Municipal Bonds in over half of these states that I sold because of this very problem. I was lucky to get out when I did. Some have defaulted!
