MASON CITY – Beginning Friday, October 5, the gravel parking lot located at North Federal Avenue and 2nd Street NE will closed for a Beer Tasting Event to be held on Saturday, October 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
This event is hosted by Main Street Mason City. Please observe the ‘No Parking’ signage placed around this area to allow for set up and take down of the event.
The lot will remain closed until 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 6.
Please find alternate parking arrangements during this period.
Why are they having this during the Clear Lake Harvest Festival? Why compete against the Clear Lake event? This event should have been held on a different date.
Hope 15 or 20 cops show up and watch everyone trying beer, watch them leave the lot, and then pick them up for whatever reason they can manufacture. Thats what ruined events in Rockfalls, Rockwell, etc.
Might have recieved a grant to wreck this event as well
Looks like it is a beer “tasting” event. Not a chug-a-thon. This shouldn’t be a problem for responsible drinkers.

Their flyer says the event is from 1-5pm on Saturday not 10am-7pm. YOUR events calender has it at 1-5pm too.
10-7 includes set up and tear down time. The event itself is 1-5.
