SPRINGFIELD, MISSOURI — This Honduran illegal alien invaded a small Midwestern town and lured an unsuspecting American teen boy to an ambush that tragically took his life, then bragged about it, but now the suspect is about to find out what American justice tastes like.

This horrific ambush in Greene County, Missouri has captured national attention as federal authorities move to ensure an 18-year-old illegal alien accused of murdering a teenager remains behind bars.

The United States Department of Homeland Security announced that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has issued a formal arrest detainer for Yefry Archaga-Elvir, an illegal alien from Honduras. Archaga-Elvir is accused of the cold-blooded murder of 15-year-old Miles Young on March 12, following a predatory luring scheme that ended in a fatal confrontation.

According to a probable cause affidavit, Archaga-Elvir and several accomplices allegedly deceived Young into believing he was traveling to meet a girl. Instead, the group used their vehicles to box in Young’s car. When the 15-year-old attempted to flee on foot, witnesses told police that Archaga-Elvir chased him down. Young’s final words, reportedly heard by witnesses before he was shot in the chest, were a desperate plea: “I just don’t want to die.”

Following the shooting, investigators say Archaga-Elvir was “braggadocios” about the killing, reportedly making a phone call to boast about the murder. The arrest followed a two-week manhunt by Missouri authorities.

Acting Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis condemned the killing in a statement, characterizing the suspect as a “depraved killer” who targeted an innocent child. Federal officials noted that Archaga-Elvir originally entered the United States in 2015 as an accompanied minor through Texas and was subsequently released into the interior of the country by the previous administration.

“Miles Young was lured to his death believing he was going to meet a girl. Instead, he was ambushed and killed in cold blood,” Bis said. “ICE lodged an arrest detainer requesting Missouri not release this depraved killer from jail into American neighborhoods.”

Archaga-Elvir remains in custody in Greene County, where he faces murder charges. The ICE detainer serves as a formal request to local law enforcement to notify federal authorities before the suspect is released for any reason, ensuring he can be taken into federal custody for deportation proceedings following the resolution of his criminal case.

Yefry Archaga-Elvir bragged about his horriffc crime, but the party is over for this illegal.
