Marty was born on February 20, 1976, in Iowa City, Iowa, the son of Martin and Carolyn (Smith) Pedelty. He was raised in Mason City, where he attended the local schools.
Marty found joy in the simple things. He loved spending time outdoors, playing guitar, listening to music, and being with those he cared about most. He was a true night owl, often most at home when the world had quieted down. Animals seemed to naturally gravitate toward him, and he had a gentle way about him that made him a friend to all.
Above all, Marty had a deep love for riding his bike. It was where he felt most free, and it was a part of his life that brought him both peace and happiness.
