

MASON CITY – NIACC sophomore Reggi Spotts has earned NJCAA Division II first-team all-American honors.
Spotts, who prepped at Mason City High, is the first NIACC women’s basketball all-American since Autam Mendez earned first-team honors and Sierra Morrow earned second-team honors in the 2019-20 season. She is the 15th NIACC women’s basketball player to be selected as an all-American.
Spotts, a 5-foot-8 inch guard, is the sixth NIACC women’s basketball player to earn first-team all-American honors. The others are Marla Shuey (1974-75), Katherine Hadley (1993-94), Chelsey Jacox (2013-14), Sierra Ford-Washington (2014-15), Mandy Wilems (2018-19) and Mendez (2019-20).
“Reggis is one of the best players to ever play at NIACC,” NIACC coach Brad Vaught said. “What makes it even more special is she is an amazing person, too.
“Reggi led us to two regional championships in her two years at NIACC – on and off the court she displayed greatness.”
Kirkwood’s Olivia Wren and Northeast CC’s Aaliyah Jones were second-team all-American selections.
NJCAA Division II national champion Pima CC had two first-team selections in Kiley Sours-Miller and Melicia Nelson.
Spotts, who was the NJCAA Region 11 player of the year, guided the Trojans to the national tournament for the first time since the 2019-20 season. The Trojans won their first game at the national tournament with a 84-65 victory over Lincoln Land CC and dropped their second game to top-seed Johnson County CC 79-77.
Spotts was selected to the NJCAA Division II all-tournament team at the national tournament.
The Trojans advanced to the national tournament with a 69-55 win over Northeast CC in the NJCAA Region 11-B title game. Spotts was selected as the MVP of the regional tournament.
She earned ICCAC player of the week honors six times in the 2025-26 season.
Spotts averaged 18.8 points per game in her stellar sophomore season. She also averaged 5.6 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.8 steals per contest.
Spotts connected on 77 3-point goals in the 2025-26 season and shot 81.1 percent from the free throw line (129 of 159).
Spotts was selected as the ICCAC women’s basketball player of the week
Spotts scored 1,043 career points, which ranks fourth on the school’s career scoring list.
Spotts made 125 career 3-point goals, which ranks sixth on the school’s career list. She collected 394 career rebounds (13th on school’s career list) with 181 assists (13th on school’s career list) and 182 steals (fifth on school’s career list).
