CLINTON, IOWA — An Illinois man has died following a two-vehicle accident at a busy Clinton, Iowa intersection on Sunday afternoon, according to the Iowa State Patrol.
The fatal crash occurred at approximately 2:57 PM on March 22, 2026. Investigators report that 57-year-old David L. Noble of Sterling, Illinois, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet Impala northbound on 19th Avenue NW. As Noble entered the intersection at Mill Creek Parkway, his vehicle was struck by a eastbound 2015 Ram 1500 driven by 48-year-old Michael R. Vonderohe of Clinton.
Noble, who was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision, was treated at the scene by Clinton Fire personnel and transported to MercyOne hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased. The driver of the truck, Vonderohe, was not reported to have sustained life-threatening injuries.
Both vehicles were heavily damaged and removed from the scene by Downtown Towing. The Iowa State Patrol was assisted during the response by the Clinton Police Department, the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office, and Clinton Fire.
The crash remains under investigation by Trooper Taylor of the Iowa State Patrol.
