Osage police announced the arrest of 43-year-old Damon Wesley Powers. Police nabbed Powers at his home on the evening of January 22, 2026.
Records show Powers is charged with four counts of:
PURCHASE/POSSESS DEPICTION OF MINOR IN SEX ACT IST OFFENSE (CLASS D FELONY)
The alleged offense date of these crimes is listed as June 11, 2025.
Records show a search warrant was executed on Damon Wesley Powers in Mitchell county back on June 12, 2025 – just one day after the alleged crimes were committed. It took until January 20 for police to gather their case completely and file charges. A nationwide warrant for Powers’ arrest was issued on January 21, leading to his arrest the next day.
Powers (pictured at top) was held in jail until the evening of January 26, when $5,000 bond was posted for his release. He has been appointed a public defender and now awaits a preliminary hearing set for January 30.
