MASON CITY – A Mason City family has lost their cat and would appreciate any help or tips that would bring him home.
According to Jennifer Kellogg, the family cat, Mr. Jax, was adopted from the human society last December. She said he is wearing a purple collar with a white swirl line going around it and patterned dots, with a tag on it.
“The tag has our number on it, his name, and the other side says ‘if I’m out, I’m lost’. He’s not yet a year old and is small to medium,” Jennifer said.
Jennifer said Mr. Jax was lost in Mason City near the corner of 21st Street SE and Massachusetts Avenue. He could be anywhere “between the Roosevelt School area and the Georgia Hanford Park”, she said.
“He’s a sweet kitten. He loves being petted and snuggled, but he absolutely despises being held. He has no front claws and does not bite. He has a white tip on his tail, a white star on his forehead and white belly. He has a stripped and spotted pattern on his fur with a couple odd lighter colored patches.”
If you spot this cat or happen to find it, please call Mason City police at 641-421-3636 so an animal control officer can safely take the cat to a shelter temporarily until the family can be notified.
