December 16, 1933 ~ November 11, 2025 (age 91)
Harvey Mosher, age 91 of Riceville, Iowa passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at the MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center in Mason City, Iowa.
Harvey Eugene Mosher was born on December 16, 1933 in Rockford, Iowa to Gordetta “Warner” Mosher and Virgil Webster Mosher. He was the second of two children born to his parents. Harvey spent his school years in Rockford and graduated from Rockford High school in 1953. Upon graduation Harvey signed a minor league contract with the Chicago Cubs and spent one season with the team in Gainesville, Texas. After that season he enlisted in the United States Army.
Harvey was united in marriage with Jane Marie Roberts on March 9, 1958 at the United Methodist Church in Rockford. They became the proud parents of two boys, Kerry Russell Mosher and Kyle Webster Mosher.
In 1964, the family moved to Riceville were Harvey joined his father in Mosher Heating and Electric, the family business. He ran the business along with his wife, Jane, until his retirement in January 1996. In retirement, Harvey enjoyed travel, woodworking, playing golf, camping, taking care of his yard, family, the Iowa Hawkeyes and of course sitting on the porch!
For anyone who knew Harvey they enjoyed his entertaining stories, his dry sense of humor and his lighthearted sarcasm. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his sons Kerry (Sharon) Mosher of Brevard, NC., Kyle (Kathy) Mosher of Mason City, IA; five grandkids Adam (Jane) Mosher, Andrew Mosher of Fort Mill, SC., Josh (Courtny) Beals, Justin (Jenny) Beals of Mason City, IA, Domi (Logan) Linkenmeyer of Ankeny, IA; seven great-grandkids; Harper Jane, Cohen, Morgan, Ethan, Lucas, Kylie, and Tucker. And three great-great-grandkids; Charlotte, Rhett and Reese; along with many nieces and nephews.
Harvey is preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years Jane; his parents Virgil and Gordetta Mosher; his brother Willis and his first wife Donna and second wife Eleanor. The family wishes to thank the care givers at Country Meadow Place and especially those at MercyOne Medical Center for the kindness, love and care given to Harvey.
A Celebration of Harvey’s Life will be held at the 10th Hole in Riceville, Iowa from 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
