Duane H. Vrieze, 85, of Forest City passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 11, 2025 at MercyOne Medical Center in Mason City.
Upon his wishes he will be cremated and a private family service is scheduled for Saturday at his home.
Duane Harvey Vrieze was born on June 3, 1940 in Iowa, the son of Harm and Jennie (Luppen) Vrieze.
He was married to Evelyn A. Reineke on November 30, 1963.
Duane was employed at Winnebago Industries for 43 years. He was always there for his family whom he loved unconditionally. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, camping, and gardening. He also faithfully met his friends for coffee daily. He will be remembered for his good humor and affinity for strange gadgets and ability to put things together without any instruction.
He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn of Forest City; children, Jon (Jody), Molly (Steve) Weibel, Ann (Tom) Schott, and Amy; grandchildren, Amanda and Samantha Vrieze, Emma (Andrew Ubbelohde), Nicholas, Jacob Weibel, Madalyn Schott, Eric(Lindsey Bates); and great grandchildren, Lenore, Olive and Henry Ubbelohde, and Asher Bates.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harm and Jennie; and siblings, Leonard, Larry, and Darlene.
