April 12, 1953 – June 23, 2025

Harold G$ Lewis, 72, of Mason City, passed away peacefully at his home on June 23, 2025.

Harold was born on April 12, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois, to Louie Lewis and Edith Underwood. He graduated from Calumet High School and went on to earn a degree from YMCA Community College. His journey through life took him to many places he proudly called home—from the sunny streets of Palm Springs and the vibrant city of Chicago to the peaceful corners of Wisconsin—before ultimately settling in Mason City, Iowa.

A hardworking and entrepreneurial man, Harold founded Lewis Electric Company in 1989, which he operated for many years with dedication and pride. Later in life, he brought that same strong work ethic to Winnebago Industries, where he built many lasting friendships before retiring in 2020.

Outside of work, Harold enjoyed collecting coins, playing pool at Burke’s Bar, and spending time with his family. He had a love for the simple pleasures in life and cherished the people and hobbies that brought him joy.

Harold is survived by his loving partner, Tracy Hadacek; his son, Shannon Powell; daughters, Shanna Lewis and Shakina Lewis. He is also survived by Tracy’s children: Brandon Hadacek (Kere Engstrom), Nathan Olsen (Kristina Hendrikson), Chelsea Bright (Anthony Clark), and Lahana Olsen (James McDermott); grandchildren: Aiden, Zoey, Kodiak, Meadow, Korra, Kalhan, Kira, Avealynn, Amelia, and Paisley; Tracy’s father, Vincent Ellwanger, and her brother, Brut Ellwanger. He is also lovingly remembered by special friends: Larry Holmes, Hillary, Dee, June Bug, and Sarah Clark along with her children, Mark, Tylan, Jeremiah, Nathan and Faith. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Fredrick Williamson; and Tracy’s mother, Sharon Ellwanger.

Harold will be remembered for his drive, warmth, and the deep love he shared with those closest to him.
