Darlene M. Bahlmann, 99, of Tripoli, died Monday, June 23, 2025, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home in Waterloo.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM, Friday, June 27, 2025, at Faith United Church of Christ in Tripoli with Rev. Brad Braley officiating. Interment will follow at Faith United Church of Christ Cemetery, rural Tripoli. Visitation will precede services at the Church on Friday starting at 10:00 AM. Memorials may be made in Darlene’s name to Cedar Valley Hospice.
Darlene Mardell, daughter of Ernest and Sophia (Burmeister) Bahlmann was born on January 10, 1926, in rural Frederika. She was baptized on February 7, 1926, by Rev. G.M. Betz, confirmed on March 17, 1940, by Rev. Theo Thomas at St. Peters Evangelical Reformed Faith in Leroy Township. Darlene and the family moved to Tripoli in 1951, where she lived for seventy years, prior to moving to Cobblestone Court Assisted Living in Sumner. Darlene began her working career at Tripoli Canning Company, later at Kramer-Crittenden Produce and Hatchery in Lawler, Finboat Fiberglass, and completed her working career at Tri-Fab Trailer Company. Darlene was a longtime faithful member of Faith United Church of Christ in Tripoli. She enjoyed gardening, canning, and had a good sense of humor. Darlene was a strong, resourceful, and selfless woman.
She is survived by her nephews. Jim (Connie) Droste of Waterloo, Charles (Diann) Droste of Waterloo; niece, Sharon Droste also of Waterloo; five great-nieces and nephews; many great-great-nieces and nephews; and dear friends, Rollie and Deb Ott.
She was preceded in death by her parents: siblings, Viola Bahlmann, Lawrence (Gladys) Bahlmann, Edna (Leo) Droste, and a brother in infancy.
