Clear Lake man faces felony bribery charge after drunk driving and eluding police

CLEAR LAKE – A Clear Lake man was jailed Thursday on a felony bribery charge after an alleged drunk driving and eluding incident.

Eric Vorland, age 43 of Clear Lake, was booked into the Cerro Gordo county jail Thursday night at 11:19 PM. This was the result of an arrest by Clear Lake police. Vorland was arrested on the following charges:

– BRIBERY CLASS D FELONY

– ASSAULT ON PERSONS IN CERTAIN OCCUPATIONS SERIOUS MISDEMEANOR

– OPERATING WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE 1ST OFFENSE SERIOUS MISDEMEANOR

– ELUDING SERIOUS MISDEMEANOR

– POSSESSION OR CARRYING OF DANGEROUS WEAPONS WHILE UNDER THE INFLUENCE SERIOUS MISDEMEANOR

– ASSAULT ON PERSONS IN CERTAIN OCCUPATIONS SERIOUS MISDEMEANOR

– DRIVING ON WRONG SIDE OF TWO WAY HIGHWAY

Vorland quickly posted bond and was released from jail, pending a court appearance.
