Timothy H. “Timmy” Wilson, age 79, of Sumner, Iowa, passed away peacefully at home on May 14, 2025, with his beloved lab, Jag, by his side.
Born in Carrington, North Dakota, Timmy was raised in Tripoli, Iowa, where he spent his early years as an altar boy—earning some heavenly points. A graduate of Tripoli High School, Timmy later served honorably in the U.S. Army before wandering to the East Coast for a spell. Eventually, he made his way back to Bremer County, Iowa, where he raised his two children.
Timmy retired from Lifeline after 17 years of service, though he never really stopped working—especially if the job came with good company and maybe a six-pack. Around town, he was known for his handy wiring jobs, his harmonica, and an ability to turn popcorn and apples into a gourmet meal. On Sundays, Timmy held his own version of communion—not in a pew, but on a stop by to see his buddies. He rarely went anywhere without his trusted co-pilot, Jag, riding shotgun.
He is survived by his son, Jeremy Wilson of Sumner, IA, and daughter, Jenee (Andy) Cummings of Mantorville, MN; his six granddaughters RyLee, Madison, Jessa, Paitynn, Keigan, and Tayler; his brother, Mike (Sandy) Wilson; and nieces and nephews Timothy (Erin) Meyrick, Mitch (Jennifer) Wilson, and Michelle Conkling.
Timmy was preceded in death by his father Lynn Wilson, mother Margaret Wilson, and sister Judith (Wilson) Walker.
The road goes on forever, and the party never ends.
A Celebration of Timmy’s Life will begin at 4:00 PM, Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Meadowbrook Country Club in Sumner.
