MASON CITY – Local sex offenders were zeroed-in on by Cerro Gordo county law enforcement agencies this week, seeking to keep predators reigned in.
On May 1, 2025, the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with the Mason City Police Department and the Clear Lake Police Department conducted a joint project focused on Sex Offender Registry Compliance. The sheriff’s office said this project was conducted to insure these offenders were in compliance as required under Iowa law, 692A.
As of May 1, 2025 there are currently 100 registered Sex Offenders in Cerro Gordo County.
The Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department was assisted by the Mason City Police Department and the Clear Lake Police Department.
