SIOUX COUNTY, IOWA – A scantily-clad male suspect ventured to an Iowa residence and after he tried to kick in the door, cops used a drone to hunt him down, only to find him in a ditch.
On Saturday, February 15, at 9:47 AM, a Sioux County deputy and other people assisting in a search, located a male in the east ditch of Harrison Avenue, four miles south of Sioux Center, IA
Earlier that same morning, at 2:45 AM, a person matching the description of the male was reportedly kicking a residence door in an apparent attempt to gain entry to the residence. The male did not reside at the residence; the caller reported the male was not wearing pants or underwear. Several deputies and officers arrived shortly after the 9-1-1 call searched the area and were unable to find the male, despite deploying a drone in the area.
The male found in the ditch was not wearing pants or underwear and is believed to be the same male who earlier attempted to gain entry to the residence; he was transported by the Sioux Center Ambulance to Sioux Center Health where he was pronounced deceased.
Foul play is not suspected and the name of the male is being withheld pending notification of family.
The sheriff’s office was assisted by the Sioux Center Police Department and Sioux Center Ambulance.
The case remains under investigation, police say.
