Iowa man arrested for shooting his wife dead outside their home

ONAWA - An Iowa man is behind bars this morning after he allegedly planned and carried out the shooting murder of his wife Friday evening.

ONAWA – An Iowa man is behind bars this morning after he allegedly planned and carried out the shooting murder of his wife Friday evening.

At approximately 5:42 PM on May 10, 2024, the Monona County Communication Center received a 911 call for a shooting that occurred in the 1900 block of Granite Street in Onawa, Iowa.

Deputies arrived and located a deceased female, later identified as Stacey Allen, 47. Jamie Allen, 48, was taken into custody without incident by the Monona County Sheriff’s Office and transported to the Monona County Jail.

Jamie Allen (pictured at top) has been charged with Murder in the 1st Degree, a Class A Felony. According to police documents, Jamie Allen, “having malice aforethought, willfully, deliberately and with premeditation, killed his wife … with a firearm, outside of their home.”

The Monona County Sheriff’s Office is being assisted by the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
