MASON CITY – Incumbent third ward councilman Joshua Masson told NIT yesterday he is seeking another term on the city council.

Masson ran for city council 2015 (ward 3) and 2016 (at-large) and was finally elected in ward 3 in 2017 in a special election.  Masson was re-elected to this seat unopposed in 2019.

According to the Masson campaign:

Joshua Masson is pleased to formally announce he is running for reelection in the 3rd Ward seat on the Mason City Council. Masson, 52, has been employed at Masonite for the last 3 years as a Lead Manufacturing Engineer. He is proud to call Mason City home for the past 20 years.

Masson holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Rochester (New York), and an MBA from Upper Iowa University. Joshua is a veteran who served as a Combat Engineer in the U.S. Army.

While in Mason City, Masson was an active member of the Mason City Jaycees, serving as both local chapter president and State President of the Iowa Jaycees. He has also volunteered with many organizations in North Iowa, most often lately with the Iowa Independent Film Festival.
