SCOTT COUNTY, IOWA – An Iowa man riding his Harley-Davidson motorcycle, wearing no helmet, was badly hurt in a crash Thursday evening.
On Thursday, July 18, 2024, at approximately 7:29 PM, the Scott Emergency Communication Center received a call of a motorcycle accident at the intersection of 115th Ave and New Liberty Rd. The Scott County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene and an investigation was conducted. The initial investigation found that a 2003 Harley Davidson was traveling south bound on 115th Ave. approaching the intersection of New Liberty Rd. The operator of the motorcycle, identified as a 46 year-old male from Bettendorf, appeared to have lost control of the motorcycle causing it to skid along the road. The operator of the motorcycle, who was not wearing a helmet, was thrown from the motorcycle causing serious injuries. The male was transported by MedForce to the University of Iowa Hospitals for treatment.
