MASON CITY – An Indiana man who allegedly helped up to five other suspects rob and murder an Iowa man was nabbed by cops in Mason City.
An additional person has been arrested in connection with the February 7th, 2023 shooting death of 31-year-old Lonnie E. Burns of Dubuque. 27-year-old Kenneth D. Reed, of Indianapolis, IN, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Mason City, IA. Â The arrest appears to have taken place on May 31, 2023. Â Reed has been charged with 1st-degree murder and 1st-degree robbery.
A total of 6 persons have now been charged in relation to this incident.
25-year-old Aaron C. Johnson, of Chicago, IL, has been charged with first-degree murder for the death of Burns. 28-year-old Terry J. Valrie of Dubuque, IA was arrested on May 25, 2023, by the US Marshals Service in Rock Island County, IL. Valrie has been charged with 1st-degree murder and 1st-degree robbery. Â Three additional suspects have been arrested in connection with this case. 30-year-old Jermaine D. Bolds of Dubuque; 16-year-old Tiarha D. Godwin of Maquoketa, Iowa; and 18-year-old Laniga G. Hannon of Dubuque were all arrested this week. All three have been charged with 1st-degree murder and 1st-degree robbery.
Murder in the first degree is a class “A” felony punishable by life in prison. Robbery in the first degree is a class “B” felony punishable by no more than 50 years in prison.
