  1. You need to be aggressive in approach. Broken Window theory is what NEEDS to be utilized. However, I believe we won’t have the guts to enforce it.

  2. You have to be pretty hard up to start playing the ghetto music when the sun goes down for a few bucks. It’s the first sign of a local bar going under if you have to depend on the welfare n drug money to stay open.

  3. Fireman Dennis Smith predicted all of this in the 1970s. Read Report from Engine Co. 89. This behavior has just taken this long to get to small town America.

  4. Spend money fixing up a school that is losing students and a mall that is a hopeless money sponge, while the town is dying from lack of businesses, rampant crime in the streets, and a worthless and ineffective police department. We elected the city council, now we are paying the price. I remember a professor in college once told me, “Small town city government is the worst in the world. Their inflated ego’s way outdistance their meager intelligence”.

  5. Get off your ass and get the drones up and running. Don’t wait. If cities spending millions then invest in some patrol drones. The cameras are excellent. Heat seeking capabilities included in these silent watchers. Could be run by a smartphone or throw down 750k and get a couple really fancy ones. The drone police enforcement bureau will go nicely with the Space Force. Of course, the old paddy wagons with the nightsticks included works too.

  6. Sadly we have a city council that spends millions and millions of dollars on construction projects and forgets about public safety. Remember when councilmen jon j. Was asking if rocks would break the useless skywalk windows? He should have been asking if bullets do. The council won’t talk about the out of control crime problem. It’s time to CLEAN UP MASON CITY. The town is full of thugs.

  7. “…fleeting the area.” Top notch elucidation, nimrod. So a few darkies and a couple of beans got into it and a cop gets a paid vacation for not even cleansing the city of one piece of chit banger.

  8. So, they’ve brought it to state and federal the center of town. Somebody knows who the shooter is, hopefully they aren’t chicken shit and come forward with a name.

  9. Sad our police officers have to put up with these cowards in our communities.i am glad we have people willing to do the job for the crap they have to deal with.

    1. This is what happens when you put in a Liberal City Council. The town goes to shit and they don’t care.

        1. Spending policies on the mall and school and NO monies allocated to crime solving or prevention.
As Charlie Daniels said it ” their is crime in the streets and I’m madder them hell, and we ain’t gonna take it no more”.

          1. Did you read about the raises in salary that was allocated to the police? Or the fact that more people applied for jobs with the police department than have previously? Seems to me that ‘law and order’ is making out pretty well in Mason City. Perhaps if we had fewer meth heads we would have less crime. How do you propose to eliminate the need for drugs that exists here?
