MASON CITY – A Mason City woman with a long history of fake reports to police once again made a false 911 call and found herself behind bars.
The latest incident for 65-year-old Alma Melinda Shafer took place August 21, when she dialed 911 and made a false report to police. She was taken to jail, booked and released. By the next day, she had entered a guilty plea and was ordered to pay $330.00 in fines, court fees and costs.
Shafer has been dialing 911 with no emergency over the course of at least the past 10 years. She was arrested in April of this year for the same offense and was ordered to pay $262.50 in fines and court fees and costs.

You do realize that mental health care in this country was severely reduced under Republican President Ronald Reagan in the 1980’s.
And most recently in Iowa, mental health care was reduced drastically under Republican Governor Terry Branstad.

Yet when he was mayor Roger Bang was allowed to call 911 anytime he wanted just to talk to the Chief, Shierff or anyone else that might he wanted to talk to for personal or city non emergency talk. He guy was told by dispatch over and over not too but the corrupt mcpd would never do a damn thing. Once again proving city officials and police can do whatever they want.
