Mackenzie Meyer’s career high 16 points not enough to lead Iowa past Ohio State

COLUMBUS, OHIO – Former Mason City Mohawk Mackenzie Meyer netted a career high 16 points in a close loss to a ranked Ohio State team Sunday in Columbus, Ohio.

Mackenzie Meyer netted a career-high 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting from the field, but Iowa lost the game 88-81 to #13 Ohio State. It marked her second career high in as many games. She had 14 in a win over Michigan State last week. Meyer was 3-3 from 3-point range. She also hd 2 rebounds, 3 turnovers and a blocked shot in 34 minutes of game action.

Four Hawkeyes scored in double figures. They include: Megan Gustafson (17), Ally Disterhoft (22), Meyer (16), and Kathleen Doyle (11). Disterhoft netted a team-high 22 points. It marked the seventh time this season she’s scored 20 or more points. Gustafson registered her 13th double-double of the season with 17 points and 10 boards.

The Hawkeyes return to action Feb. 16 in Iowa City to host Northwestern at 7 PM.
