CHARLES CITY – A Charles City woman is guilty of drunk driving for a second time.
Jolene Bilharz, age 42 of Charles City, was charged with her second drunk driving charge. She was stopped on Highway 218 northbound back on November 11 by a Bremer county deputy after a driving complaint. She was charged with open container of alcohol and second-offense operating while intoxicated.
Bilharz later pled guilty to both charges and was sentenced to 180 days in jail with 173 suspended. she was put on probation for 2 years and must pay $2,681.25 in fines and court fees for the drunk driving charge and $365.00 for the open container charge; her license was also revoked.
Bilharz was last arrested for drunk driving on the afternoon on July 3, 2015, by Charles City police. They stopped her at the corner of Cedar Street and Gilbert Street and took her to jail on a charge of first-offense operating while intoxicated. She later pleaded guilty and was sent to jail for 2 days, and her license revoked and was ordered to pay $1,837.50 in fines and court fees.
