Why is Aspen Hills in Garner closing?
Because LVS came of age during the Korean War. Things were cut and dried then. Black and White. Very easy to sort out. You worked down at the local factory, had limited exposure to African or Native Americans, and Hispanics and other immigrants knew their place in relation to the Germanic / Anglo White Masters. Cigarettes and Booze were standard fare, being nice to your wife or kids was optional. Drugs weren’t as prolific cuz the 60’s hadn’t happened yet. Hoods fought local towns in the alleyways with clubs and chains. The hair was greasy, and so were the hamburgers. Guys and Dolls, Broads and Dames…the good old days for LVS. Then when the 60’s happened it ruined everything for him. Drugs confused his worldview. He had a meltdown and never looked forward.
That may be one perspective.
I know many older people that have garnered knowledge and wisdom in their many years and I listen to them with respect.
But I suppose that there are a few that just never learned or are just to plain stupid to comprehend.

Yes a dead child is a tragic thing…but the point you seem to be missing is that this baby was killed at the hands of another, and the only plausible person who did it walks among you free. Worse…a whole lot of corrupt circumstances surrounded the adjudication of the death. Many people were harmed, some irreparably. Lives were ruined, reputations tarnished, injustices perpetrated…all to protect a man who in all likelihood killed a defenseless baby and refused to admit to what he did.
If you have irrefutable proof, use your high-powered on-line lawyer education and do something about this egregious tragedy. Stop blaming Mason City and or its residents. Get off your lazy ass and do something instead of whining all the time. BUT….since I know all you want is pity, nothing will be done. You use the death of this child as a way to validate your irresponsible behavior and as a way to have a built in excuse for not amounting to anything.

I haven’t knowingly had a conversation with him for some time, but I’ll keep that in mind. How would I know that it is him commenting, especially with all the anonymous posters on this site. I don’t try and disrespect any poster, but there are , in my opinion, some anonymous posters out there that are really hard to have a conversation with.

I don’t come here to read childish name calling. If I remember right, it started with posters not agreeing with other posters comments/opinions. People don’t always agree with my opinions, and that’s their right, but I don’t verbally attack them because of it. It gets to be old when I get on here everyday and the first post I see, is somebody attacking somebody, somebody that hasn’t even posted for a few days. I’m sure that’s not what this site was intended for, if it is, then maybe this site is not for me. Because we’re all different, have different personalities, can’t we just agree to disagree without all the name calling. It would be nice if we could get back to the good discussions and realize we all have different opinions. With his first swallow of water, he takes his daily medication. His medications are safe to take because some stupid commie liberal fought to ensure their safety and that they work as advertised.

He prepares his morning breakfast, bacon and eggs. Joe’s bacon is safe to eat because some girly-man liberal fought for laws to regulate the meat packing industry.
In the morning shower, Joe reaches for his shampoo. His bottle is properly labeled with each ingredient and its amount in the total contents because some crybaby liberal fought for his right to know what he was putting on his body and how much it contained.

He arrives at his boyhood home. His was the third generation to live in the house financed by Farmers’ Home Administration because bankers didn’t want to make rural loans.
The house didn’t have electricity until some big-government liberal stuck his nose where it didn’t belong and demanded rural electrification.
He is happy to see his father, who is now retired. His father lives on Social Security and a union pension because some wine-drinking, cheese-eating liberal made sure he could take care of himself so Joe wouldn’t have to.
Joe gets back in his car for the ride home, and turns on a radio talk show. The radio host keeps saying that liberals are bad and conservatives are good.
He doesn’t mention that the beloved Republicans have fought against every protection and benefit Joe enjoys throughout his day.

There are other very qualified people out there, but have lots of reasons for not coming forward.. Actually I would like to see Jodi as a Policy Maker than just a figure head. If you perform the Mayoral duties according to the Code of Iowa…. that position has very little influence. It is just that our Mayor changed it on his own and turned it into the position of Tyrant. The only real duty is that the position has the discretion to appoint members to City Boards and Commissions and appoint the Police Chief. And, break a tie if the financial amount is not over a prescribed amount. As I think of it, Jodi could contribute more to the Greater Good.as a Council person, as a policy and decision maker. Then Robin Anderson from the Chamber needs to go. And, Steve Noto needs to keep his nose out of it all and finally the Cerro Gordo County Republicans need to keep their noses out it as well. These positions are for all the people, not just a select few and special interest groups…..Anyone agree??

Men need a reason to produce from than they consume, the foundation of a successful society. The carrot on this stick is the family unit which has been destroyed. You have a greater than 50% chance that your children will be ripped away from you, turned against you, and have your lifetime of earnings and wealth taken from you.
As children must of us saw our families ripped apart for no good reason. Indoctrinated since preschool to suppress masculinity and sexuality. Expressing this in adulthood can lead to you losing your job. The government incentivizes women to destroy the family unit and have bastard children from multiple fathers subsidized by tax payers. Most of these children are future criminals or drains on society.
Globalists shift wealth and jobs overseas for the decades. Pay and wealth decrease making it hard to pay for basic necessities to start a family. Homes used to cost 1 to 2 times yearly pay, now they cost 5-10 times more. Affirmative action keeps the best people from getting jobs ie white men who need those jobs in order to be able to afford women.
Most women are no longer feminine, loyal, and have no basic home making skills. Men are still required to keep up all societal norms of sacrificing. Women who have had multiple sexual partners greatly increases the chances of divorce. Women only want men who make more money than them, they may start a relationship with someone who makes less but rest assured they will dump you eventually.
TLDR; Women are no longer worth the trouble so why bother working hard.

As of yet, I haven’t read any information about the shooter, but I can say this. The mental affects on young soldiers during war time is tremendous. I have seen it, from the lowly PFC to the over trained LT. Why it happens to some and not all, is a mystery. Hopefully it gets caught before it’s to late.
I was just thinking this morning that there is really something wrong in the good old USA. Lets take for example, a hard working man. Who goes to work everyday, pays his taxes, tries to be honest and fair to all. Works lets say, 40 maybe up to 50 years then retires. With what time he has left, he tries to do the best he can to get by, survive. He paid into SS and Medicare all those years, knowing/hoping that he would get a return on those as promised. Even after he retired, he has to still pay into Medicare. Hopefully he had some kind of a retirement fund that he put into for these later years, unless the place he worked screwed him out of it. Now every once in awhile he hears rumors that there isn’t enough money in SS or Medicare to sustain him. And too, he has to struggle with the cost of health care and medication, ouch. I’ve tried to hit the important drawbacks too retirement, but there are probably more. Now, on the other hand, you have a hard working, honest so far, maybe fair to all, man that wants to be president. He gets elected, only serves a 4 year term and gets voted out. Here is where I said that something is really wrong. This man is voted out after a 4 year term, but, is payed for starters, $200,000.00 a year, plus medical, etc, for the rest of his life by the tax payers. Never having to worry about losing SS, Medicare, or anything like the working man does. The situation is possible worse then this, but hopefully you get my point.
It is not just the presidency but those in congress too.
Chris Watt and Tim Latham were elected non too soon. The N. I. Events Center aka Fairgrounds elected Terrance P as president. Any hope of salvation is now GONE. Time to shut it down boys!

I watched the Mayors state of the city speech tonight and he proceeded to say that we have the most transparent local government we have had in the last eight years yet they can not answer a few simple questions that Max asked during the public forum.
Max asked them to address his questions on the petition during their discussion of the arena, when that part of the meeting came up they just blew it off and didn’t even attempt to answer any of the questions. That does that seem like a very transparent government to me.
