CORALVILLE – A convicted murderer died in prison over the weekend.
Michael Corbin Rouse, age 62, an inmate assigned to the Iowa Medical and Classification Center, died Sunday April 26, 2015. Rouse was housed in the IMCC Long Term Ambulatory Medical Unit. Rouse advised the station nurse at 4:50 AM of breathing difficulty. Emergency medical protocols, including a call for ambulance, were immediately implemented. Rouse was transported to University Hospitals and was pronounced deceased at 5:54 A.M.
Rouse died of natural causes resulting from Exacerbation of COPD.
Rouse was 62 years old and serving life sentence from Boone County for Murder First Degree. This sentence began on May 31, 1996.
